Early Recovery Strategic Planning in Darfur

The speaker described UN-Habitat's programme for reconstruction in Darfur in preparation for the return of the displaced population.  The speaker highlighted the threat of regional environmental degradation linked to all reconstruction activities. Additonally, while the population remains displaced, time is being used to develop and adapt construction technologies for reconstruction that are both acceptable and sustainable.
