One Room Shelter Program

This document provides a brief overview of the one room shelter program conducted by IOM Pakistan in response to the devastating 2010 Pakistan floods.  The flexible and lo-cost one room shelter strategy was devised in response to the unprecedented numbers affected, the geographic scale and varied cultures and climates. This resource covers issues such as community participation, targeting the most vulnerable, flexible needs-based support  (including cash support) and disaster risk reduction in the rebuilding process. The document concludes with a summary of the progress made.
