Bangladesh is a disaster prone country which has been facing perennial problems of natural disasters. Most houses in the rural areas in Bangladesh are of non-engineered roof construction which have virtually no lateral load resistance mechanism. A stronger and safer built environment can protect both lives and livelihood.
