Elderly Peoples Home Jablanica

While the pace of returns has increased in recent years, many of the DPs continue to reside in Collective Centres (CC) where they await durable solutions for their housing problems. These CCs provide, for the most part, only the most basic accommodation. Many are converted facilities such as former schoolhouses, closed hotels, barracks or housing containers. A disproportionately high percentage of the CC caseload in Jablanica are elderly people, couples or single persons, without family support. Another group of vulnerable individuals in this CC are female headed families. Most of these residents have been living in very poor conditions for years, loosing their prospects for reintegration into a normal life step by step. They have no real chance for a successful return to their place of origin. A local integration is indicated.
