Shelter Project Manager

To plan, develop, monitor and evaluate the assigned shelter project(s), providing technical support, leadership and strategic direction, as well as meeting quality standards, encouraging beneficiary participation, liaising with other stakeholders and managing and training staff. The position-holder is responsible for assessing community needs, designing projects, writing proposals and initiating and effectively managing and reporting on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget.

· Higher level qualification in a technical field, and/ or significant technical experience in architecture/ engineering / surveying

Languages

Working knowledgeof French (spoken and written)

Ability to speak, or willingness to learn Creole desirable

Experience / Competencies

2 years post-qualification professional experience in a relevant field; Project management experience
Experience using GIS software and / or using CAD software an asset
Team-player with good inter-personal skills
Experience of living and working in a multi-cultural team
Aptitude for community mobilisation and capacity-building
Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels
Ability and willingness to manage project implementation
Able to prioritise clearly and oversee multiple tasks
Able to set clear objectives for staff and to delegate
Able to take the initiative in project decisions
Passionate about serving the most vulnerable
